Stowe, VT Vacation - Cassi di Sassi
Oct. 19, 2008

Finally 3pm arrived and we were off to the house.

This is the backdoor.

This is the view from the backdoor.

The ridge in the distance is Mt. Mansfield. You can almost make out the face.

The property was 25 acres, which stretched a little further into the woods you see at the end of the field

This was the first of two wood stoves we'd use to heat the place.

That's actually a huge fireplace there in the corner where the wood is stacked. The builder and original owner of the home was a stone mason (wasn't it obvious). Unfortunately he was better at stone then he was chimneys so the fireplace was nonfunctional. Still cool enough to marvel over .

The kitchen with Gretchen's head poking out from the side of the dishwasher

The other end of the house with the second woodstove and stairs leading to the bedrooms .

The view from one end of the house to the other .

The master bedroom and window facing the back of the property.

Another shot of the master bedroom. It too had a nonfunctional fireplace.

Looking down on the living room area and the second woodstove .

The handmade frontdoor.
