This year the Mid-Atlantic Super Series included the 24 Hour race at Seven Springs in the series schedule. The purpose was for team points only. This was my first 24 hour race. We had two teams representing us. The first was our four man elite team (Magical Fruit was their name) and the second was a five person open team. I was on the five person open team. Here's the riders meeting at 11am Saturday morning.

This is Buddy Briggs. He used to race for Wooden Wheels, but now is a member of the Spot brand whore
army or something to that effect (he gets a free bike). Normally an all around good guy and fun to ride with.
This weekend he was the enemy as he was a member of the Freaks and Geeks five person open team.

This is Marc Vettori. The team capton of Freaks and Geeks. Also an all around good guy and fun to ride
with, but not this weekend. They really put a hurting on us and most of the other teams there. He's done
this kind of thing before and knew how to win.  He's also the Spot Brand Whore Army lieutenant or
something like that. You can read more about him at fatmarc dot com .

This is "Dan-O-Mite" Conrad the singlespeed dude that's been whipping my ass all season. Though
something about racing for 24hrs scared him so he put suspension and a few gears on his bike. An
abomination if you ask me.

Chris practicing his dazed and confused riding abilities before the race. Not sure why he looks so sketchy
here before the race, maybe it's the hat?

I guess Rob, Bryan and myself are discussing strategy. Either that or I'm trying to spit a goldfish into my
hand.  Kristen's probably talking to the other girl about the pros/cons of hydraulic disk brakes over
mechanical disks.  Yeah that's what they're talking about.

The beginning of the race was a le mans start. Jerry was the runner/starter for our team .

Ben was the runner/starter for the Magical Fruit.

The Magical Fruit camped for the weekend, while my team stayed in a condo about a mile away. The
condo was nice, but not as convenient as camping near the "transition area".  Here the Magical Fruit do a
cheer before the beginning of the race.

Mark got himself a special hair cut for the weekend.
