This  weekend we went car camping with the gang in Jim Thorpe, PA.  Major props to Chris for
planning the trip. It was a perfect weekend to go - the height of the fall colors for this area.

We arrived Friday night to set up camp, hang out by the fire and catch up. Here is Jen and J discussing
the finer points of down booties.

Here's the rest of the gang wishing they had down booties. From left to right, Doug, Amanda, Kira, and
Chris, our car camping concierge.  A seemingly peaceful crowd, we were informed by the management
around 1am that they had gotten a few complaints about our noise level.

Saturday morning we woke (late) to a beautiful sunny day.

Had a continental camp breakfast of bagels and cereal, then headed off to hike somewhere.

Near the parking area of our hike was this abandoned train tunnel. The front has either caved in or
overburden has been pushed in front to keep vehicles out.

The tunnel exited the side of a cliff over the Lehigh River.

Here's a time exposure looking back towards the entrance. The tunnel was wide enough for two trains.
You can see some of the ties are still around.

Here's the exit of the tunnel.  This picture was taken from the opposite side of the Lehigh River.

The trail we were hiking was the Glen Onoko falls trail.  This was just one of the many
waterfalls and water features along the trail.

This was the top of the trail and the falls.

Here's saturday night around the campfire, though this time we had food - lots of food.

Chris preparing some chicken to go with our veggies, potatoes, steak and smores.

Here are the potatoes cooking on the fire. Actually it's 8lbs of potatoes cooking on the fire.

With the potatoes off the grill and steeping on the table, it was time to throw on the chicken.

Sunday morning breakfast of eggs, bacon and guess what? More Potatoes!
