Interior Paint

When Craig and Craig were around, we had them put a first coat of paint on all the walls upstairs. Before we moved in, Jen and I managed to put a few more coats in some rooms, but not all of them. While my mother was here last week (5/2 - 5/6), she put a second coat in the guest room and the kitchen. It looks great! It's like we have real walls in those rooms.  Next to be tackled is the main bathroom, our bedroom and probably the hallway.  The foyer, master bath and office might be a while.

We finally got the second coat of paint in the main bathroom (6/3/06). Overall all it was a lot of work. We
had to paint everything including the trim. It was done first, so as you see here it was taped then the walls
were done. The walls also needed a lot of work to patch holes I left from moving the switch and putting in
the medicine cabinet.  Now we start hanging towell racks, toilet paper holders, etc. This marks the
completion of the bathroom switch project, but there's still lots of painting to do in the house.

So it's been a while since we painted anything. It's been even longer since we've had molding. In order to
have molding, we need to finish painting. Today (12/31/06), we got a couple steps closer. We cleaned out
the office and went to work. I've lost count the number of coats of red we've painted in here. We should
have started with a primer, but didn't. Hopefully this is the last coat of paint. This room will be first to get
molding.

With the office drying, it was off to the bedroom. Though a bigger room, it required less walls to paint.
For some reason when we were finishing the closets in the master bedroom, we painted the wall they were
on, so it didn't need it today.

Everything is still drying, but so far looks real nice.

4/28/07 the end of April we got around to painting the living room and hallway. With these two areas
repainted we could really get serious about trim. Unfortunately that's the time mt. bike racing gets really
serious.

5/28/07 the end of May, Jen got around to painting our new kitchen windows - not an easy task. I think it
took nearly two weeks.

Here's the bigger window all taped. Made for some interesting photos

Taped and painted at night.

A cool night shot of the windows over the sink.

One of the days it rained and while the windows were out we had to cover the opening with plastic. I think
we went a few days with it like this over night and off to work too.
